The Perth Boat Show was on again, held at McCallum Park on the edge of the Swan River. With hundreds of boats on display and a huge crowd in attendance the place was buzzing…or maybe that was just the sound of the RAC rescue helicopter taking off. The entire site was fenced off complete with security patrols to make sure no one was slipping under the fence. Hmmm don’t get any ideas now, hehe. Interestingly, the bikepath/footpath cut through the event. Weather was brilliant as well, the organisers will no doubt be pleased with attendance at this event. Here are some pictures of the 2008 Perth Boat Show:

The crew of the chopper saw the entrance fee and took off

$14 Entry fee! Aww come on
Judging from the hefty $14 per adult entrance fee I think the organisers must be getting some ideas from the Royal Show people(about $20 for entrance there). But people went in anyway… I guess this proves if you have a good product, you really can charge a premium.

The sign was knocked over when the helicopter took off.. or perhaps someone was just plain fed up with the admission price and put the boot in.

Every boat needs a chromed propeller…something to reflect upon

Star Trek style boats seats are in. Klingons on the starboard bow.

This quadbike looks like some nasty type of insect on wheels.

I love ladies with long legs…but this is ridiculous
Enormous inflatable paddle pool. Great for kids parties.

The ‘American Fast Food’ stall made me sick just looking at it. All those bright colours, stars and stripes and dagwood dogs.. what next… playing the theme from ‘Happy Days’? I dunno.. I’m really trying to forget about those times when I used to watch that program.. now this just brings back bad memories of The Fonz and Ritchie Cunningham etc. Just drive my Chevy to the levy and leave it there thanks…I’m getting a Mercedes.

Celebrity Chef Sunny De Ocampo was extremely cool.

Aiyo! I’m not looking at you… mate!

What every skipper needs… a boat full of bikini clad girls
So many boats to choose from…sigh

Jetski’s are very popular on the Swan River…sort of like motorbikes for the water. Also seen a status symbol for many young men.

I guess there could be outlaw jetski gangs. Think of the scene from movie “The Wild One” – What are you rebeling against? Whadda ya got?…. lack of wheels possibly?

Puppies for sale advertised on wheelie bin. But where are the puppies kept I wonder?
